Concert Kratzeburger Music Summer
To a summer concert with fiery passionate Italian Baroque music invites evang. parish in its village church Kratzeburg for Friday, August 11, 2023, at 19:30. The Duo Vimaris, Mirjam and Wieland Meinhold from Weimar, Thuringia, will perform "Musica italiana", including sonatas, arias, canzonas, toccatas and concerti by Corelli, Torelli, Geminiani, Porpora, Gentili, Pergolesi, Scarlatti and Marcello. Of course, for the crowning finale, the prominent Antonio Vivaldi must not be missing. The enthusiasm for Italy, also in Germany, led to an incomparable boom in the Baroque period, not only in painting and architecture, but especially in sacred and courtly music. Italy was "in." Listening to such vibrant art, this quickly becomes plausible. The two performers have also appeared in other European countries through thematic programs. Radio and television recordings as well as CD productions round off their activities. Mirjam Meinhold is engaged as a soprano at the German National Theater in Weimar, Wieland Meinhold is currently the Thuringian University Organist in Erfurt and Weimar. Before that, at 6:45 p.m., there will again be an exciting guided tour of the Nußbücker organ under the motto "Klangmajestät - Besuch bei der Königin" ("Sound majesty - a visit to the queen"). Curious visitors will be taken directly to the console. For all those interested in the organ, university organist Dr. Meinhold will explain the "Queen of Instruments" up close.
