Exhibition at the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum from October 14, 2023 to February 29, 2024. Exhibition opening on October 14 at 3 p.m.

For more than 40 years, Abrax, Brabax and Califax have been traveling not only around the world, but also through time in the monthly MOSAIK magazine. They have been to Ancient Greece, met Nefertiti in Ancient Egypt, traveled through the Middle Ages as knights and met countless great adventurers and famous personalities from history.

There are many Läuschen un Riemels to read in the MOSAIK magazines, which have been published continuously since 1955. Adventures with inspectors and various aristocrats are told, and the protagonists of the comic can also sing a song about their fortress tide, as they have landed in prison many a time. Fortunately, a Koppweihdag has so far been rather rare in the Abrafaxe universe, because Abrax, Brabax and Califax live abstinent lives ...

Unbelievably, the Abrafaxe have just ended up in Constantinople and from there their incredible journey continues with a white elephant ... with a detour to the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum in Stavenhagen.

An exhibition there is dedicated to her great Hanseatic adventure, which was published in Low German in 2022. This is entirely in the spirit of Reuter, for whom the continued existence and contemporary use of his native language was a major concern. Brick by brick, a MOSAIK is being put together in the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum in Stavenhagen, which shows the links between the founder of modern Low German literature and the three adventurers from Germany's longest serialized comic. One major aspect is the artistic creative process, as the MOSAIK is put on paper with brush and ink in an almost manufactory-like production process, just like in Reuter's day.

The Abrafaxe's Hanseatic adventure traces the attempts of medieval merchants to establish a Europe-wide network to facilitate regulated trade and cultural exchange. The aim is not only to tell readers exciting and amusing stories, but also to impart knowledge - historical, scientific and linguistic knowledge. Not superficially, but playfully and unobtrusively integrated into the adventures of the Abrafaxe.

In their search for the treasure of the Likedeelers, Abrax, Brabax and Califax experience everyday life in medieval towns at first hand and make stops in Rostock, Wismar, Stralsund and on Hiddensee, among other places. Stavenhagen was only a stone's throw away, and the three adventurers are now looking forward to welcoming many visitors, young and old, to the Fritz Reuter Literature Museum in Stavenhagen.
