"Mindful"

Petra Rudolph was born in 1944 and has learned, studied and worked a lot in her life, as she says herself. Painting has accompanied her throughout her life, but the desire to paint and draw took on a special significance when she left Berlin with her family and moved to a small village in Brandenburg. With this move, her relationship with nature intensified and found expression in landscape painting.

Today Petra Rudolph lives with her husband in a village near Woldegk. It is the landscape, which lies directly in front of her doorstep, that inspires her and allows her to experience a kinship with nature through her inner and outer senses. At the same time, the impressions on site are sometimes so strong that Petra Rudolph only makes sketches and color studies here and then finishes the work in the studio.

In addition, she sees nature as a teacher that trains the understanding of intellectual truths. Nature teaches and instructs and shows us what is vital and worth preserving. With her works Petra Rudolph conveys her deep joy in the landscape, but above all she urges us to respect nature and calls for a mindful approach to our living environment.
