"What I remember is how sunny, lively, peaceful, vivacious and good, pure, clean heart he was. That's the kind of person you have to know/have, I thought to myself. "These words were used by an Italian friend to describe Sascha, who only got to know him for a very short time. These and similar words were very comforting for us after the sudden death of our son Sascha at the Berlin half marathon.Dear people from our family and circle of acquaintances and a large number of Sascha's friends picked us up with such words and helped us to find a new life after the old life was wiped out from one second to the next by the news of his death on April 7, 2013. The strong sympathy of his friends made it possible for us to learn to live with our grief. People who came into our lives for the first time helped us to walk this path of grief.
