Public reading by Rebekka Kricheldorf (playwright, Berlin)
as part of the interdisciplinary symposium "THEATER / LITERATURE. On contemporary drama"
The cardinal virtues Temperantia, Prudentia, Iustitia and Fortitudo meet to take stock of the situation and disagree strongly: is mankind paying them enough homage, or is it just their much more attractive enemies, the deadly sins? The four of them talk their two thousand five hundred year old heads off, evaluate human behaviour using various examples, shed light on their development from antiquity to the present day and even dare to make one or two attempts to modernize their own identity.
Following the reading from my play DIE GUTEN, I want to talk to the participants about the genre of social comedy.
Rebekka Kricheldorf studied Romance Studies at the Humboldt University in Berlin and Scenic Writing at the Berlin University of the Arts and has been writing plays as a freelance playwright for various theaters in German-speaking countries since 1998. Her most recent play, Bondi Beach, premiered in October 2023 at the Stadttheater Ingolstadt.
