I, the beggar man, will tell you the story of the king, of my friend and king, Thrushbeard, on Sunday, March 24, at 4 p.m. in the Kornhaus. I've known him since he was very little.
King Thrushbeard is a dreamer, poet and romantic. He loves books, likes poems and songs. He would rather play an instrument than practise sword fighting.
So he gets to know me, the beggar and minstrel, learns how to cook and craft and play the hurdy-gurdy.
And now he is to marry the princess from next door. He falls in love because she is beautiful, clever, self-confident and courageous. But she doesn't want to be married! And then Thrushbeard has the chance to win his princess. To do so, he has to be clever, careful and terribly patient. But in the end, they both grow as beggars and when they recognize each other, they have acquired a great love.
A play for everyone aged 5 and over. The play lasts approx. 50 minutes, admission €5.
