Reading & talk as part of the "Healthy & Self-determined" month of action
Reading & discussion as part of the "Healthy & Self-determined" month of action | Moderation: Michelle Lehner, sex educator (gsp); Robert Holz, sex. Gesundheit (CSG MV)
Sex is no longer what it used to be. It should no longer be automatic, no longer a fulfillment of duty, but the result of consensual negotiation processes. The term "sexual consensus" has been spreading since #metoo at the latest. But do talking and rules really make everything clearer? Of course not! Because the matter is complex. What about the gender stereotypes and normative images about sex that have shaped us? Who has learned to talk about sex? What about insecurities? And where are lust and spontaneity? How do you even know what you want? Can you learn to enjoy? When is a boundary a protection and when is it an obstacle? And does everything always have to be right or is it okay for things to go wrong?
This book is a good-humored walk through the challenges and pleasures that arise when you are interested in shaping sexuality in a consensual way. Joris Kern also sees sex as a playground that should be about fun and curiosity. In order for this to succeed, this book has questions and answers that open up new horizons and invite you to have more contact with yourself and others.
Joris Kern organizes workshops on consensual sexuality as well as training courses for youth work professionals, works as a mediator in Berlin and nationwide, preferably with queer relationships, shared flats and political projects. In 2021, Joris' essay Konsenskultur - Gemeinsam größer denken was published in the in*sight/out*write series. 2023 saw the publication of the title "Sex, but right?" About the thing with consensus, which is more complicated than hoped, but also more relaxed than feared.
