with Fritz Reuter, poet and writer
Start: 4:00 p.m., Meeting point: Tourist info in the HKB
Fritz Reuter (1810-1874)
The great Low German poet lived in Neubrandenburg from 1856 to 1863 and, as he himself said, the Neubrandenburg years were the most creative in his life. Working as a teacher, he had contact with many strata of the population. Works such as "Ut de Festungstied", "Keen Hüsung" or "Ut de Franzosentid" made him famous. Perched on a pedestal near the train station, he still looks out over his Neubrandenburg today.
