Herbord of Raven (died before 1287)
Locator, i.e. founder of the city of Neubrandenburg, who had the city built on behalf of the Margraves of Brandenburg John I and Otto III, after the Duke of Demmin, Wratislaw, felt compelled to cede the land of Stargard to the Margraves in 1236, according to the Treaty of Kremmen. More than 30 towns were founded as a result. The founding charter of Neubrandenburg was issued by John I in Spandau on January 04, 1248. Knight Herbord von Raven was subsequently also the town's Schulze, i.e. mayor.
