How romantic are contemporary artists? How much romance is there in contemporary art?
"Feelings are also facts" -
On the occasion of the Caspar David Friedrich anniversary
How romantic are contemporary artists? How much Romanticism is there in contemporary art?
Romanticism celebrates feelings, people's longings and a greater power to which we all have to submit. Whereas the Enlightenment declares facts to be the only reality. Uniting the schools of thought of both cultural movements offers us a connection between the duality of analysis and emotion.
This exhibition explores the concept of Romanticism and aims to find out how contemporary artists look at Romanticism today? And what remains of this epoch in us?
Can AI be nature? Do we know more when we are "in feeling"? And does an awareness of nature help us to recognize our living space as finite?
