The mysterious Rübezahl sometimes appears as a giant, sometimes as a dwarf, sometimes in human form. He guards valuable treasures, plays tricks on people, but also helps them in difficult situations - as multifaceted and capricious as the weather in the mountains. The spirit of the Giant Mountains got his name when he was asked to count all the turnips in a field for an unfortunate princess whom he had kidnapped and wanted to marry. Meanwhile, the girl managed to escape.
But why are there Polish, Czech and German Rübezahl legends? And what does the mountain spirit have to do with sustainability? Ralf Pasch's exhibition at the Kulturforum provides answers to these questions. The color drawings created especially for the exhibition are by the internationally renowned illustrator and author Juliane Pieper.
Throughout the duration of the exhibition, guests of all ages can test their knowledge of Rübezahl in a quiz and, with a bit of luck, win a mountain spirit souvenir.
There will also be a live competition during the finissage.

Monday to Friday: 10 am - 5 pm
Special opening for the finissage on Saturday, February 22, 2025: 3 - 5 pm
