Tragicomedy by Florian Zeller / Low German version / Fritz-Reuter-Bühne Schwerin

"I have the feeling that I'm losing all my brothers and sisters, one after the other." Albert no longer understands the world. Familiar things are constantly disappearing and strange people appear in his life. Only his favorite daughter is no longer in touch. But the other one is all the more annoying with her care and paternalism. But the widower and former engineer always had everything under control? Until he realizes that his memory lapses are getting worse and worse and it pulls the rug out from under his feet.Florian Zeller tells the story of Alzheimer's disease from the perspective of the person affected. He spares us neither the touching tragedy nor the absurd and sometimes hilarious moments. Following the acclaimed film adaptation with Anthony Hopkins, the Fritz Reuter stage now shows the role that childhood language plays when it comes to preserving memories against forgetting. Growing older remains the most exciting adventure we can experience.
