07.09.2024 Climate Day Bad Doberan

The Doberan Climate Day 2024 will take place on Saturday, 07.09.2024, organized by Klimanetz Bad Doberan e.V., the city of Bad Doberan and Kornhaus.

In the morning at 09:30 there will be a waste collection campaign, meeting point is the VHS, Neue Reihe 50.
The Climate Day will be opened at 12:00 noon by patron Dr. Till Backhaus, Minister for Climate Protection, Agriculture and the Environment.

From 12:00 to 16:30, there will be around 40 stands on the Kornhaus grounds on the topics of PV systems, energy saving, Bad Doberan citizens' energy cooperative EMM eG, a large children's program with water play mobile, energy bike, face painting, toy exchange, book table, water experiments, handicrafts and the children's climate quiz.
Food and drink will be provided.

At 13:00 there will be a guided tour of the Backhausmühle and at 14:00 there will be Sapatos Cegos, a dance spectacle in public space. The longest bicycle journey and the best entries in the children's photo competition will be awarded prizes at 15:00 and 16:00 respectively.

Between 14:20 and 16:00, experts will give short presentations in the Kornhaus on exciting topics such as climate extremes in the Stone Age, ghost nets in the Baltic Sea, climate change in MV, renaturation of streams and oxygen and temperature development in the western Baltic Sea.

The evening before, on September 6, 2024, the film "Beautiful, dead Baltic Sea" will be shown in the Kornhaus at 7:30 pm. This will be followed by a discussion with Dr. Uwe Krumme from the Thünen Institute of Baltic Sea Fisheries.
