The great freedom is not found in Hamburg or Berlin, it’s on the coast of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. Or rather, in and on the clear waters of the Baltic Sea. Characteristic of many spots are the exciting, hip-deep shallow water areas. The water is clear and up to 20°C in summer. Added to this are the small playful waves for lots of easy-going fun.

Adjacent coastal areas are much more open and provide professionals with plenty of longed-for action and excitement: Of course, there’s no groundswell on the Baltic Sea, Bodden and lakes, waves arrive with the wind and come from all directions. When it powerfully drives across the tops of the waves, the low-salt water and low depth help the waves to quickly build up to a two-metre height and are considerably steeper than those on the North Sea.
The wind and weather bring unforgettable WOW moments, competitions and action, especially during the spring and autumn storms. In summer, numerous events along the coast generate great interest. The windsurf scene meets up at surfing cups, festivals and beach parties and has a blast celebrating on the beach.
