Guests in search of pleasure are in the right place at Gut Schwechow, 40 km southwest of Schwerin, between Lauenburg and Ludwigslust. A fruit distillery producing fine fruit brandies, liquors and spirits has been in the old dovecote of the farm estate since 2003.
Visitors can book distillery tours followed by a tasting. But before the award-winning wines delight the taste buds of the guests, people taking part in the one-hour tour learn about the art of distillation – from the selection of the fruit to the bottling of the final product.
To a large extent, the apples and pears come from Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. In order to be able to offer exotic fruit brandies such as pineapple, carambola and banana brandy, fruits from Costa Rica are imported. The distillery tours for groups of five or more people can be booked by telephone.
